Creative Sewing 9 to 12
Using hand and machine sewing and various art supplies participants will create a variety of delightful projects including monster dolls, cute “stuffies” and fun bags, purses and pencil cases. No sewing experience necessary. Instructors Tammy Krueckl and Silvana Shamo.
Drawing and Painting 9 to 12
Students work with an array of drawing and painting materials creating a wide range of aesthetic projects from a variety of subjects. Colour, line and texture, creativity, perception, and imagination are explored in a creative atmosphere. All supplies are included. Instructor Marsha Matheson.
Beginner Watercolour 12 to 19
This class will teach the basics of watercolour painting, including traditional and experimental techniques, working with pans, tubes and pencils and trying out different paper. All Supplies are included. Instructor Tammy Krueckl.
Cultural Connections ages 13 to 19
This six week class is a series of art activities based on traditional Indigenous art forms designed to make connections between culture and contemporary context. The workshops offer art skill development opportunities as well as enhance personal development, build self esteem, and foster creative confidence. Instructor Gerry Potié.
Art Journaling 13 to 19
Let this six week workshop be the beginning of the journey to learning how to use mixed media techniques to express, celebrate and explore the parts of your own life story that no words can explain. Participants will explore different art mediums and techniques such as collage, painting, drawing, doodling and writing while expressing themselves without rules and boundaries. Drawing and Painting Portraits & People 13 to 19
This workshop is designed for students who wish to explore and expand on drawing the figure and the face whether the interest is in realism, illustration or manga style drawing. Students work under the highly individualized guidance of the instructor with an emphasis on personal development and experimentation. Techniques with pen, ink and acrylic paint will be explored. Acrylic Painting Seniors and 15 and up
Explore the basic techniques and concepts of acrylic painting such as colour theory, composition, colour mixing, brushwork, blending, and glazes. Emphasis is placed on developing skills and pursuing an imaginative and personal approach. Instructor Candice Grosenick.
