-sewing needle and thread *Please be careful when using the sewing needle!*
-scissors
-pen or pencil
-googly eye or paint to make the eye
Optional:
–template
-glue stick
-sewing pins
Instructions
1. Download and print out template or draw your own dinosaur shape onto felt. You will need to trace two dinosaur pieces.
2. Cut out the spikes. We will be sandwiching the spikes in between the two pieces. You can use a bit of glue to hold them down to make it easier to sew.
If you are comfortable with sewing the spikes along as you go without glue, go ahead!
3. Thread your needle and thread. You can use any stitch you like. To sew the sides together, we are going to use a running stitch which is basically just going up and down the fabric. You can practice on scrap paper first if you need!
Double your thread and tie a knot at the end. Go under one single layer of the dinosaur to hide the knot. Pull it through. Then go down again about a centimeter away. Then come up again a centimeter away. Keep doing this around the whole pouch.
Leave a space at the bottom for filling!
Fill the dinosaur with filling. You can use a pencil to push the filling into the tail and legs.
Sew the open spot closed. Add an eye!
And you’re done!
