Sahkihitok is a Cree word that means to love one another, and is a traditional teaching in story telling on Piapot First Nation. “Sahkihitok is a well known teaching from Piapot. All of our Elders say this commonly to the youth and to the community when ending speeches and stories. My grandfather has said this to our family many times that it became common and I had no idea that it was particular to our community, as I hadn’t heard other communities say this.” (Kevin Wesaquate, 2019)
