Scratch Art Tutorial

June 25, 2019 by SCYAP

Cut or use a thick piece of white cardstock paper or white smooth cardboard.
Apply wax crayons or oil pastels to paper, making sure all the white paper is covered.
You may use any colour combination of crayons or pastels you like, but make sure there is no white showing. Once finished with crayons you will have something like this.
Grab black india ink, a smooth large or medium paintbrush and cover the crayon or pastel on the paper completely. Allow to dry fully. You may use a hairdryer to speed up the drying.
Untwist a paper clip or use a pencil with a paper clip stuck in the eraser for better control of your drawing. Choose what you would like to draw. Scratch your design into black ink, making sure not to scratch to hard.
Your finished project will turn out something like this. Enjoy!
