Saturday Morning Drawing Class have been a regular feature of the SCYAP Art Gallery as we have exhibited their art collective every 18 months for at least the last 8 years. They are an open studio class that meets weekly to create art from life. Artists get together to draw and paint directly from the live model with no instruction provided. The group has worked together for many years and the artworks produced are remarkable.
“Working directly from life allows the artist to tap the subconscious and work in a very intuitive way. There isn’t time for anything else. Lots of artworks allow the artist time to experiment with different art media and different approaches to design. The human being has infinite variety as a subject for art. The human being has emotional and spiritual elements that translate naturally into the artworks. The results from this collaborative experience speak to all of us in different ways.” Kevin Quinlan Saturday Morning Drawing Class member.
Saturday Morning Drawing Class takes place on Saturdays at Grace Westminster Church 505 10 St E Saskatoon, Saskatchewan between 10:30 and 1:30. They are always looking for new members, the weekly drop-in fee is $12.00. Find them on Facebook
